HyperEnv had a fantastic year. The feedback we receive from our customers is tremendous and motivates us to improve HyperEnv step by step. It is overwhelming that HyperEnv orchestrated 2.5 million build minutes last year.

Re-run GitHub jobs interrupted by EC2 Spot Interruptions
Utilizing spot capacity instead of on-demand instances brings down infrastructure costs for self-hosted GitHub runners on AWS dramatically. However, when using spot instances, there is the chance that AWS terminates the spot instance while it is still running a GitHub job. Typically, we observe a high rate of spot interruptions during November and December.
With HyperEnv 3.3.0, we are shipping a long-awaited feature. From now on, HyperEnv re-runs GitHub jobs automatically in case they have been cancelled due to an EC2 spot interruption.

Use the configuration parameter RerunInterruptedJobs to enable or disable the feature (see configuration).
Pricing: Simplify and Reduce
Finding a pricing model that works for both sides, our customers and us as a software provider, is always a challenge. Based on feedback from our customers, we have decided to simplify HyperEnv’s pricing model. At the same time, we are lowering our prices.
Up until now, we charged $0.002 per vCPU and build minute.
From now on (requires HyperEnv 3.3.0), we charge $0.002 per build minute.
For example, that’s a 50% cost reduction (HyperEnv) for jobs on the default instance type m6i.large.
Check out our cost calculator for details.
